Having established the company as a hydraulics specialist in the preceding years, the focus shifted to driving further growth from the year 2000 onwards.
Michael Uhl (the founder’s son) joined the company to expand sales and marketing, thereby transforming UH into a family-run business.

We ventured into establishing our own heat exchanger production facilities: in the Czech Republic in 2001 for tube coolers, and in Neu-Anspach in 2003 for oil-air coolers.

Transitioning from a distributor to a manufacturer was a major undertaking, yet it was fully understood and supported by the entire workforce.

Over the course of these ten years, we gradually developed and expanded our various cooler product lines. At the same time, we established our production facility in the Czech Republic and continued to expand the plant in Neu-Anspach.

Today, we would like to introduce you to a colleague who has been part of our team for several years now: Benjamin Franz.

Benjamin works in our production department and brings with him many years of experience in metal fabrication and structural engineering. After completing his apprenticeship as a metal fabricator specializing in structural technology, he worked at various metalworking firms, continuously expanding his professional expertise.

Through further training in welding technology, metalworking, and workplace safety, he has been able to further build upon his know-how over the years.

For Universal Hydraulik GmbH, hydrogen is not yet a part of our everyday business—at least, not yet.
And that is precisely why it is worth taking a closer look at this market.

Our colleague Mario Brumm attended the World Hydrogen event to gain a better understanding of where hydrogen stands today, which applications are emerging, and what technical challenges this may present for the industry.

For us, the primary objective was to gain perspective:
What role do cooling, hydraulics, and systems engineering play in future hydrogen applications?

What requirements arise regarding temperature management, efficiency, and operational safety?

And where might long-term synergies with our existing expertise emerge?
Hydrogen is a complex technological field with many unanswered questions. It is therefore all the more important to listen closely at an early stage, contextualize new developments, and gain a realistic understanding of the market.

An exciting initial glimpse into a subject that we will continue to follow closely.

Oil temperature is easily underestimated—until it gets expensive.

In industrial hydraulic systems, it often determines more than just efficiency—namely, the stability of the entire process.

When temperatures fall out of balance, the signs are rarely immediately apparent.

The consequences emerge later: increased wear, system instability, and unplanned downtime.

That is precisely why oil-air coolers are not mere "accessories," but a central component of the system.

They ensure that heat is dissipated right where it is generated—reliably and continuously.

Your responsibilities will range from marketing strategy, website management, and social media to presentations, brochures, and visual/video content, as well as trade fair appearances and customer events.
