In screw compressors, cooling often determines efficiency, lifespan and operational reliability.

Even small pressure losses or insufficient heat dissipation can noticeably impact the overall performance of the system.

That's why Universal Hydraulik develops heat exchanger solutions precisely tailored to the requirements of stationary screw compressors.

The focus is on:
▪ extremely low pressure losses
▪ high power density with minimal installation space
▪ optional suitability for marine applications or with ASME certification

And if desired, we can also supply the matching oil circulation pump – for a well-designed, turnkey system solution.

New colleagues

New colleagues get to know our heat exchangers where they are manufactured.

This week, our new colleague Sebastian Schupp from Heat Exchanger Sales visited our plant in the Czech Republic, where our shell-and-tube heat exchangers are produced.

Together with Clemens Uhl, he used the visit for an intensive introduction to our products and manufacturing processes. From the construction of the tube bundles and materials to welding procedures and quality control during production.

This knowledge is crucial, especially for technically demanding components like heat exchangers. Only those who understand the manufacturing process can truly grasp applications, accurately define requirements, and provide expert advice to customers.

Our shell-and-tube heat exchangers stand for:
✔ High efficiency in cooling hydraulic oils and industrial media
✔ Robust design for demanding industrial applications
✔ Comprehensive quality control during production
✔ Customized design for a wide range of applications

Direct communication between sales and production is an important part of our collaboration. This ensures that our customers worldwide receive reliable and durable cooling solutions.

Many thanks to our team in the Czech Republic for their support during the onboarding process and the exciting insights into heat exchanger manufacturing.

Strong partnerships thrive on personal exchange

This week we were delighted to welcome visitors to our plant in Neu-Anspach:
Lars Ihrelius from HydraSpecma, along with customers from the marine sector, were our guests.

They traveled from Finland, Sweden, and Poland to discuss the global characteristics and differences in seawater cooling.

HydraSpecma has been our sales partner for Sweden, Denmark, and Finland for 30 years. This collaboration combines technical expertise, market knowledge, and a shared understanding of quality in hydraulic and cooling technology.

Personal interaction on-site is particularly important to us. Discussions about current projects, new applications, and future developments help us to tailor our solutions even more precisely to the needs of our customers in Scandinavia.

Many thanks to everyone for their visit and the long-standing, trusting partnership. We look forward to many more joint projects!

Potential leakage points – in our smallest tube bundle heat exchanger.

Did you know that even our smallest shell-and-tube heat exchanger has 54 possible interfaces between oil and water?

54 points where absolute precision determines safety.

That's precisely why Universal Hydraulik GmbH focuses on one thing without compromise:

➡ 100% Quality Control
➡ Maximum Operational Reliability
➡ No Media Mixing

🔵 Advanced Quality – Our Quality Promise

✅ Safe Coolers

4–5 tests per cooler – including automated testing procedures.

Every single shell-and-tube heat exchanger undergoes defined and documented testing steps:

1️⃣ Dimensional and Visual Inspection
Precision begins with the details – checking dimensional accuracy, material, and surface finish.

2️⃣ Tube Connection Testing
Special focus on the sensitive interfaces between the tube and tube sheet.

3️⃣ Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
Stress under defined test pressure – for maximum operational safety.

4️⃣ Separate leak testing of oil and water sides
Safe and permanent media separation.

5️⃣ Automated final inspection & documentation
Standardized, reproducible, and traceable.

✅ Clean Coolers

Cleanliness begins before assembly.

We perform welding and cleaning before final assembly.

This means for our customers:

✔ No weld spatter or welding dust in the system
✔ No bent tube sheets
✔ No additional oil flushing required

Cleanliness is not an add-on – it's part of our quality standard.

🎯 Our commitment: Zero tolerance for oil and water mixing.

Even the smallest leaks can cause efficiency losses, corrosion, or machine damage.

Quality isn't created at the end.

It's created in every single process step.

That's what Universal Hydraulik GmbH stands for.

Connections don't fit? Installation space too tight? Existing system doesn't allow for modification?

In practice, projects often fail due to details, not the technology itself.

This is precisely where Universal Hydraulik GmbH comes in.

With over 43 years of experience, we develop heat exchangers, hydraulic systems, and cooling systems that adapt to your specific requirements, not the other way around.

Flexible connection positions, special flanges, unique thread types, or complete adaptations to existing systems: We design individually, including 3D drawings and precise calculations using specialized software.

Our customers benefit from:
✔ Freely selectable connection positions and sizes
✔ Custom solutions outside our product catalog
✔ Adaptation to existing housings or installation spaces
✔ Certified quality – every heat exchanger undergoes five-stage testing
✔ Rigorous testing, including expansion at 100 bar on the water side

Whether it's a single project or series production, we deliver solutions that are both technically and economically sound, not compromises.

Do you have specific requirements or an existing system that needs to be adapted?

Talk to us; we'll develop the right solution for your application.

Marine quality that convinces with DNV certification

In use on all the world's oceans: Technology from Universal Hydraulik.

When it comes to shipbuilding and offshore applications, only one thing counts: absolute reliability.

Hydraulic systems perform crucial tasks on board:
Rudder systems, winch drives, bow thrusters, controllable pitch propellers, and stabilizers.

In the harsh, salty environment at sea, maximum stability, corrosion resistance, and service life are essential.

For over 25 years, our heat exchangers have met precisely these requirements – with optional 3.2 certification from all marine companies worldwide.

NEW:

DNV (DV Energy Technology) certification is now available (from 2026) for all our heat exchangers.

Now we can build your heat exchangers immediately without a drawing review.

Our production facility has been certified since 2016 (BIN - 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗜 & 𝗜𝗜).

𝗜𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗜 ... Whether seawater heat exchangers in CuNi or titanium:

We develop systems that operate reliably even under extreme conditions – in shipbuilding, on offshore platforms, or in specialized maritime applications.

Our hybrid and shell-and-tube heat exchangers stand for:
✔ robust construction
✔ high corrosion resistance
✔ certified safety
✔ maximum efficiency
✔ international marine approvals

Are you planning a project in shipbuilding or the offshore sector?

Talk to us about certified solutions for your application.
